‘He will be here to take over’: Virgil van Dijk backs Dominik Szoboszlai as next Liverpool captain
Virgil van Dijk argues that Dominik Szoboszlai has what it takes to become the next Liverpool captain in the coming years.
The Hungarian midfielder has just signed a new five-year contract with the Reds and has been indicted into the leadership group alongside Alisson and Joe Gomez.
“Every leadership group is important,” said Van Dijk.
“Obviously there is experience and there is someone in terms of Dom who has been the captain of his country, and that will only help him to be part of this group.
“He has to take responsibility to take that on his shoulders and it is going to benefit us also in the long run with Szoboszlai signing a new deal. He will be here to take over.”
