After Duane “Keffe D” Davis was convicted of first-degree murder for orchestrating Tupac’s 1996 killing, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said prosecutors have not completely ruled out pursuing Diddy if new evidence emerges. At the same time, Wolfson emphasized that there isn’t currently enough evidence to charge him.
There is a reason Diddy’s name keeps coming up: Davis has previously alleged that Combs offered money for an attack involving Tupac and Suge Knight. Those allegations have been publicly reported for years, but they are allegations, not a finding that Diddy ordered Tupac’s murder. Combs has denied the claims.
The recent conviction itself established something different: the Nevada jury found Davis guilty of orchestrating the killing, while prosecutors argued the motive was retaliation after Tupac’s entourage assaulted Davis’s nephew, Orlando Anderson. The actual shooter has never been identified in court.
So, do I think Diddy had something to do with it? I wouldn’t state that as fact based on what’s publicly established. The more accurate answer is:
