Vince Neil Faces Backlash for Possible Lip-Syncing at Mötley Crüe Concert
Back in the ’80s, Mötley Crüeruled the world. The hard rock outfit was one of the most successful bands of the era, with their music inescapable on the charts. Their album Doctor Feelgood even reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. They were arguably the most popular rock band of the era.
Now, all these years later, they’re a legacy act, still traveling around and performing for all the fans who’ve grown up with them. They’ve managed to maintain a fanbase who, either through nostalgic or diehard reasons, has kept supporting them with their shows year in and year out.
Recently, those fans have been calling the band out for what appeared to be lip-syncing from lead singer Vince Neil at a recent concert.
Mötley Crüe Fans Are Upset Over Alleged Lip-Syncing
Neil has always denied accusations of lip-syncing, although the band has used backing tracks before to boost their sound. Fans didn’t see it that way, however, as they took to the comments to angrily accuse the singer of phoning it in and not singing anymore.
“No. That’s lip-syncing. His voice does not sound like that anymore.”

“Sounds just like the studio version.👌Oh yeah because it is lol.”
“You have one job Vince.”
Another commenter noted that when paying for a ticket to a show, you expect to see the band actually sing, saying, “If they chose to tour…and I paid for a ticket… they’d better sing at least a little bit.”
‘Let Him Be’: Defending Vince Neil’s Aging Voice
Other fans were quick to defend the band, bringing up that they’re getting older and that it isn’t easy.
“Let him be… gosh ppl are so rude.”
“Mic issue? Not a huge secret they use some backing tracks but typically he at least does sing.”
“Hey, the fact that Vince still wants to get up there and entertain the fans says a lot. His voice may not be what it was in the ’80s, but the guy is still showing up, still performing, and still giving people the chance to see Mötley Crüe live. After decades of touring, that kind of drive deserves some respect.”
We may never know what really happened on stage at this Mötley Crüe concert, but no matter what, the band is still doing what they did in their prime: getting people talking.
