“Thank God the surgery went well! A new story begins today. A new Rodrygo has been born… I’m ready to go through this whole process and experience God’s blessings in my life. So grateful for each and every message of love. Isaiah 41:10.”

The procedure took place early in the morning at the Olympia Quirón clinic in Madrid and was performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Manuel Leyes, who has treated numerous elite athletes throughout his career. Real Madrid’s medical staff supervised the operation as part of the club’s medical protocol.

Didier Drogba’s momentous final kick in Chelsea’s 2012 Champions League run demands a deep rewind

The sheer finality of Didier Drogba’s penalty kick after extra time of the 2012 Champions League Final is … a lot. To really appreciate that final, climactic moment and the astounding pressure involved, we’ve got to learn about several overlapping histories.

Rodrygo was surrounded by family and close friends during the process, and the successful surgery marks the beginning of what is expected to be a long rehabilitation period.

For injuries involving both the ACL and meniscus, recovery timelines typically range between 10 and 12 months before a player can safely return to competitive football. Real Madrid have not officially confirmed a precise timeline, but the nature of the injury means Rodrygo will miss the final stretch of the season.

Rehabilitation will begin almost immediately. Rodrygo is expected to work closely with Real Madrid’s medical team as well as his personal trainer, Marcel Duarte, as he starts the demanding process of regaining strength and mobility in the knee.
