Mohamed Salah’s agent: decision on star’s next club coming “very soon” after Liverpool exit
Mohamed Salah‘s agent has said that a decision will be made on his future ‘very soon’.
Salah is a free agent after leavingLiverpool by mutual consent and has been weighing up the next move of his career.
The 34-year-old has been a long-standing target for Saudi Pro League clubs, with the division’s chief executive having expressed interest in bringing Salah to Saudi Arabia in December.
“Mohamed Salah is welcome in the Saudi League, but it is the clubs that are responsible for negotiating with players,” Omar Mugharbel said at theWorld Football Summit.
“For sure Salah is one of them [a target].”
Fenerbahce, alongside clubs in the United States, Italy and England, have also been credited with interest in Salah.
The Egyptian scored 12 goals in 41 games last season to conclude his Liverpool career with 257 goals across all competitions, the third-highest total in club history. He is the highest-scoring overseas player inPremier League history.
Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, has now provided an update on his future and said there will be no negotiations held with clubs ‘for the sake of noise’.
“We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon,” Abbas said.
“It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise.”
