Marc Cucurella has fulfilled his World Cup promise by getting a tattoo of Spain coach Luis de la Fuente on his left arm, a week after La Roja’s victory over Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final.
More than a week after Spain were crowned FIFA World Cup champions with a 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina, Marc Cucurella has fulfilled one of the tournament’s most memorable promises. The Spain defender has had a tattoo of head coach Luis de la Fuente inked on his left arm, with the completed design now revealed on social media.
The tattoo, created by renowned Spanish artist Joaquin Ganga, features De la Fuente holding the FIFA World Cup trophy. Ganga has previously worked with several global stars, including LeBron James, Drake and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
Cucurella had made the pledge before the World Cup final, saying he would get a tattoo of De la Fuente’s face if Spain lifted the trophy. La Roja delivered on the biggest stage as Ferran Torres scored the winner in extra time after Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez was sent off for a second bookable offence in stoppage time at the end of normal time.
