Jude Bellingham achieved an unprecedented feat for England at the World Cup.
Midfielder Jude Bellingham shone brightly with a brace against Norway to help England come from behind to win 2-1 after 120 minutes of regular time and extra time.
England secured their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup after a dramatic victory over Norway in extra time at the Miami stadium on the morning of July 12th (Vietnam time). It wasn’t Harry Kane , but midfielder Jude Bellingham who was the hero for the Three Lions, scoring a brace against Norway in the 45+2 minute of injury time and the 94th minute of the first extra time period.

These two goals made Bellingham the first England midfielder to score at least six goals in a World Cup and he is currently the tournament’s top-scoring midfielder.
The Real Madrid star currently has 6 goals, the same as his teammate Harry Kane, closely trailing Erling Haaland (Norway) in the race for the 2026 World Cup Golden Boot, one goal behind Erling Haaland, and two goals behind Kylian Mbappe (France) and Lionel Messi (Argentina).
Bellingham also became the first English player to score a brace in two consecutive knockout matches at the World Cup, having previously scored two goals in the round of 16 when England beat hosts Mexico 3-2.
According to statistics, Bellingham is currently the midfielder with the most goals in the 2026 World Cup, and has also equaled the record of legendary Gary Lineker for the most non-penalty goals scored by England in a major tournament (World Cup or Euro).
Lineker scored six goals from open play at the 1986 World Cup, and Bellingham currently has six goals, all from open play, with none scored from penalties. He even has a chance to surpass the former England striker if the Three Lions continue to progress further.
The two goals against Norway also helped Bellingham (total of 9 goals) surpass Wayne Rooney (8 goals) in the number of goals scored for England in major tournaments. His goals helped England reach the World Cup semi-finals for the third time (1990, 2018, 2026) since their only victory as hosts in 1966.
