A$AP Rocky Says He and Rihanna Have a ‘Lot of Help’ When It Comes to Raising Their 3 Kids

The longtime couple share daughter Rocki Irish and sons RZA and Riot

A$AP Rocky is sharing insight into how he and longtime partner Rihanna raise their children despite their busy schedules.

During his appearance on The Jason Lee Show, the Don’t Be Dumb artist, 37, opened up about how he and the Anti artist, 38, navigate parenthood with their busy schedules. Rocky, who shares three children with Rihanna, told host and friend Jason Lee that they have “a lot of help” from their nannies and mothers when it comes to raising their children.

“It’s our mothers [and] our nannies, like it’s a lot of help,” he said. “I’d be lying if I told you we don’t got help. We got a lot of help. You know, you need that.”

“Some people unfortunately don’t got that kind of help or support,” Rocky continued. “I know as a dad, as a present dad, how much I just want the best for my kids, and I want to be present. But, I’m a hardworking man, you know what I’m saying? And when I’m not at home, I just need to know that my kids are being looked after and loved.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Rocky raved over his three children — daughter Rocki, 11 months, and sons Riot, 3, and RZA, 4. The loving dad of three shared that he’s “really sensitive” and “really gentle” with his children, explaining the one unexpected personality trait of his daughter.

“RZA was my first, so by the time Riot was born, I already had to learn how to — not learn, but I naturally just love both of them equally, right? The thing was it was like big brother, little brother,” he said. “By the time Rocki came, it was like, ‘Oh snap, this is different because this is a girl, so you got to handle them a little bit differently.’”

“I’m really sensitive with my kids and really gentle with them, but like with her, I was ultra, ultra gentle,” he added. “She turned out being the toughest, more than her brothers. She’ll like grab your nose, squeeze it, [and] she takes my braids, yanks it. I’ll be like, ‘Damn, girl. Why you beating up Daddy for?’”

When it comes to his relationship with each of his children, Rocky made it clear that he doesn’t have any favorites.

“I’m a present dad. I don’t favoritize any of them,” he said. “They all have such different personalities that you love each of them for what it’s worth.”

Back in January, Rocky appeared on an episode of The New York Times’ Popcast and opened up about the differences he’s beginning to see between his young children.

“You know, my first son, RZA, he’s just really like, he’s [the] opposite of his brother, the 3-year-old and the 2-year-old. They’re about 14 months apart. So, they’re really close, but he’s really antisocial,” he said in the Jan. 16 interview.

“And my second son is just a socialite at this point, you know?” he added of Riot. “He wants to steal the room when he comes, and he walks in it, and he’s addicted to cotton candy, and… he likes… typical little kid stuff.”

The Highest 2 Lowest actor added that his “first son never ate candy a day in his life and hates it.”

Hosts Jon Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli joked with Rocky that he has a “monk” toddler and a “rockstar” toddler before moving on to his baby girl.

“Baby Rocki man, she’s something, you know she’s 4 months. She’s 4 months on the 13th,” the “Praise the Lord” rapper said of his youngest.

“And she looks exactly identical to me. My twin, bro,” he said proudly.
